HVAC Service Technician Supervisor

Mechanical Systems Company, LLC is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician Supervisor to join our Service Department. This is a key leadership role responsible for supervising, training, and developing HVAC apprentices and junior technicians while ensuring high-quality service, safety compliance, and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and train apprentices and 1st/2nd-year HVAC technicians in installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
• Build and maintain excellent customer relationships, modeling professional communication and service.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of HVAC equipment, ensuring proper safety practices and coaching team members in effective techniques.
• Interpret and teach others to read electrical diagrams, blueprints, job specs, and building codes.
• Oversee system start-ups and tear-downs and ensure accurate documentation and daily job reporting.
• Guide technicians in installing and starting refrigeration systems, locating leaks, and performing comprehensive maintenance.
• Procure tools, materials, and supplies needed for service and repair tasks.
• Ensure all team members follow PPE requirements and safety protocols in varied weather and job-site conditions.
• Communicate daily with the Service Manager regarding dispatch updates, work orders, and repair recommendations.

Pay Scale: starting $85,000 yearly, depending on experience

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 5+ years of HVAC hands-on experience
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience within HVAC service, preferably mentoring early-career technicians
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, EPA certification, electrical schematics, OSHA and HazMat requirements, blueprint reading, and building codes
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, inspecting, brazing, interpreting plans, and supervising technical work
• Demonstrated ability to train others in safe work practices, equipment use, and technical skills
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and stretch for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours)
• Lift up to 80 lbs and work in tight or elevated spaces
• Climb ladders, scaffolds, and work at extreme heights
• Bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl for extended periods
• Use visual acuity to inspect systems and read specifications
• Perform repetitive movements and safely operate machinery and power tools
• Must pass a medical evaluation verifying the capability to meet physical job demands

Work Environment

The HVAC Service Technician Supervisor works in environments that may include extreme heat or cold, dust, hazardous materials, confined spaces, or active construction areas. Proper PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, respirators, ear protection, and steel-toed boots, is required and enforced.
